A Lasting Decision
Choosing the right school for your child can be a daunting task. The choice of where and how to educate your child is something every family must mull over. It is one of the most important decisions in a parent’s life. As parents ourselves, we encourage you to ask the questions that matter.
Who do I want my child to be?
Here at Paideia, we take the long-range view of our students when considering their educational experience. Our challenging academic environment is designed to educate the whole child, cultivating wisdom and virtue by emphasizing truth, beauty and goodness in the teaching process. The portrait of who they become when they graduate looks beyond their years here at Paideia and focuses on what they will need as individuals to live life well. For us, it’s not simply about what they will learn and how we teach them, but who they will become.
How will my child develop a vibrant faith?
Understanding that God is the author of every subject your child will study is critical to forming a strong, vibrant faith in Christ. We do not separate out fact from faith, but integrate biblical truth into every subject. Your child will learn how math, science, philosophy, history, literature, and the arts are interwoven and created by the same God who created him! He will grow to know who he is in Christ and how he fits into God’s perfect plan. More than ever, our children need to know they can depend on God’s Word and on the saving grace of Jesus Christ.
How will my child learn?
Modern education has become focused on teaching to the test – training students to simply memorize information. Classical Christian education instead cultivates thinking, articulate students who are able to reason well, work hard, and communicate clearly and persuasively. Classical Christian students learn in a completely different way – by asking questions, reading original texts, and using logic to reach educated conclusions. In short, classical Christian education teaches students HOW to think, not WHAT to think.
Will my child be welcomed into a loving community?
We are a close-knit community of like-minded families representing a diversity of local churches. Your child will be welcomed into the school as an important member of a large and loving family. Being part of a community means to live in response to Christ’s love for us be serving and sacrificing for others. This theme is reinforced throughout the school – whether in class, on the playground, or at a community service event.
